Fallujah,USA

Fallujah is still under lockdown. Nobody goes in or out without an ID card and a retinal scan (rectal probes are optional). The ID cards have microchips embedded in them. These gizmos are pretty amazing devices, really; they contain all sorts of useful information: name, rank, serial number, date of birth, favorite color and the name of your dog. They’re working in Iraq and now they’re coming to work here, too.

Your elected (duh) representatives are hard at work, folks, and they’re working against you. It seems that outlaws will be the only ones without no stinkin’ badges when this bill hits the streets.

Forget the bullshit security issue. Mexicans, terrorists and anarchists aren’t stupid. Any hacker worth his Gyro Gearloose merit badge can make a pretty decent chip card with a soldering gun and some Superglue. How do you think Xerox got to be so big? Who’s going to police the damn police is my question. Where the fuck are the Congressional Democrats on this one? I keep hearing the pissing and moaning coming out of blogosphereland about the chicanery of the Repugs, but nary a whisper about the backstabbing of the Dems.

What am I saying? These guys don’t have the energy to backstab, they just laid down and said “Roll over us; it’s for National Security; there is no higher good than that. And screw us in the ass while you’re at it.”

This boondoggle is going to cost billions, employ apes and jam every waiting line from Cucamonga to Copley Square Station. And how the hell are we going to pay for it? This is a just a disaster waiting to happen, and you can bet your bottom dollar that the Diebold, Sequoia and Election System & Software corporations (the clowns that brought you rigged touch screen voting) are going to be up to their omicrons in no-bid contracts on this one.

Our freedoms and our liberties just keep slipping away; slip and slide and then they are no more. “National Security!” they cry, as if it weren’t a plain fact of life that we all “proceed at our own risk,” wherever we go and whatever we do. Ultimate security is ultimate imprisonment. This ID business is one more brick in the paving of the road to the National Lockdown.

Dark meat, or light?

So now we're boiling people. That's just great. This charming country is one of the places that we are so blithely rendering prisoners (render: to butcher). Well, this blogger thinks that it's time to impeach the chimp and serve him up before Congress. Velvel thinks so, too:

It has been said here before (e.g., in a lengthy post of March 17, 2005) that, due to the program of rendering people for torture, George W. Bush is guilty of a federal crime, of a crime under American statutory law. Bush (like Cheney and some others too) is guilty under Title 18 of the United States Code Section 2340A subsection (c) of the crime of conspiracy to commit torture, a crime punishable by up to life imprisonment, a crime which is obviously impeachable because it is a serious felony. Not a single person -- not one -- has ever written or emailed me to say that any part of this view is incorrect -- not even a highly accomplished, somewhat conservative genius who previously had told me that there was more to be said for rendition than I was acknowledging. But although not one single person has said the view expressed on March 17th is incorrect, neither the mainstream media nor Bush’s political opponents have had the courage to come out and say that the leaders of the American government have been committing serious, impeachable crimes.
How in the name of Christ we can do this and still call ourselves a Christian nation is just beyond me. This Bush character is just out of control and the mainstream media just says nothing.

The State Department doesn't think kindly about the place either, but we're building a mighty air base there anyway.

Impeach
George W. Bush now. (I refuse to call him my President).

Wildmon to meet with FCC

Donald Wildmon, leader of the infamous American Family Association, is meeting with the FCC on May 9 to discuss the alarming attempt by the Playboy Channel to start sending "pornography" to cell phone subscribers.

Wildmon is afraid that underage cellphone subscribers will start receiving "Debbie Does Dallas" on their Nokias.

Good luck to all, I say. I can barely read the text messages on mine, much less attempt to make out any detail in the famous "candlestick scene."
